A very good investment! Muscle cars have been holding their value. even in this economy.
This is the real thing. We have had this car stored away for almost 20 years. It has the correct QB Block. Correct xxxxS and xxxxS AFB carbs. Please note in the photo of the engine compartment, the original ceramic resistor for the electronic ignition, and the return or "dual" gas line that came on 409 cars.
Also all the original clutch linkage, "Z" bar brackets, and even ground straps, are still in place.
(Don't know why a coil bracket is on firewall, the original stands straight up behind the dual carbs, because of limited room.)
The car has the original open 3:08 rear end that came factory. GM part no. xxxx899. (Or we have two posi rear ends in our inventory that we could up grade to.)
The car is also equipped with the original wood "sports" steering wheel, has the radio delete plate, and came with no power steering or power brakes. This is a fine example of one of the rare muscle cars offered in the Impala line.
The car has all the original SS anodized aluminum trim, original grill, bumpers and tail lights in very good shape. (We will be restoring the car and using all the original chrome trim and exterior parts.
The car was originally painted in the 912 Silver Blue Metallic Lacquer finish, with 815 Black SS bucket seat interior.
Car has the correct Muncie four speed, GM part no.xxxx325 close ratio 2.20:1 (or M21) with original shifter and four speed console. Factory tach, and a padded dash. Also has original Kelsey-Hayes rims, (one even still has the paper sticker on the inside) and the original old style cord tires, in the correct 8.00 x 14 size, that came only on the 409's.
We are presently repairing driver side front floor pan. (Although the carpet was removed when stored, the sound deadening material was left on the driver side floor pan and collected moisture and rusted that floor pan. There are also two small areas in the left and right trunk floors, behind rear wheel wells that are being repaired.
The outer body is very solid except for the lower quarter panel on the driver side, and a small area by rear bumper.
As much as we are wanting to restore the car with all its original parts, it will have a new dash pad, headliner and carpet, and possibly new bucket seat covers. Plus a repo air cleaner, and radiator. Unfortunately the original air cleaner did not come with the car.
Do not miss a chance to own one of these rare cars, and at a price slightly lower than the current market. Please inquire for further photos. Or we will post them as work progresses.
Thank you for any inquiries
